The Wedding Singer (& the Cake Delivery Crew)
After much thought, I asked my Tita Rosan and Tito Alex if I could have a job in their catering service. Of course, I guess they couldn't refuse a relative, especially if that person also happens to be their goddaughter.
Delivering wedding cakes is really cool (and a piece of cake, too...no pun intended). The crew just takes the cake and flowers to the reception banquet, sets up the cake, assist the bride and groom in cutting it, serves it to the guests, then we pack up and leave. See, easy as that.
In short: GRABE ANG SAYA-SAYA! Hahaha!
I get to eat for free and study when I'm done cutting the flowers and giving away brownies. Parang kemer app pero divided by 10 ang hirap. And all the money I earn, I get to keep. No transpo fee, no food to worry about, heck, I don't even have to do the math! Take that, agency who offered me 325 per day.
The only thing I find funny in this job is that everyone else who has worked here for more than two months have grown oblivious to the sweet songs, breath-taking scenery, and the oh so glorious meals.
First time I went to Coconut Palace:
Raissa: "Uy, ang ganda!"
Nino: "..." *decides to push buttons on his phone*
Aunt: *too busy with her I-pod*
Raissa: "Asan ang coconuts? Kala ko ba coconut palace to?"
Obet: *looking at the opposite direction*
Randy: *sleeping*
Raissa: "...okay. Saya no?"
During the banquet:
Raissa: "Uy, crepes! Grabe di ako nakakakain nito sa UP, pero ngayon magsasawa ako!" *evil laughter while eating* "Gusto nyo? Uy, Cake! Uy, salad! Wow, brownies!"
Randy: "Sige, kaw na lang."
Raissa: "Nino o, may Mongolian (rice) dun, tara damayan nyo naman ako!"
Nino: "O Obet, Mongolian daw si Raissa."
Sukang suka na rin sila sa pagkain, while I ate everything I could get my hands on (with poise and stealth, of course).
It's understandable, too much of a good thing takes the pleasure away. (But I think I will be hoarding deserts next time so I can give them away to kemers at the review center! wahahaha! That reminds me that I should bring tupperware or sosyal na paper bags sa next outing.)
so. what size of raissa are we expecting in the future? anyway, there is no weight limit for the board exams.
