Success! I've colored a manga scan!

Yesterday I visited a couple of sites for manga tutorials. I found a good one at Tokyo Manga University. It was so easy to understand, you can see the results! (It's like I'm selling some product on TV -_-,)

Here is a sample picture, taken from Panikku's Doujinshi Review Website. Panikku's got tons of Naruto, One Piece, FMA and other eye candy.

This particular picture is from Midnight, a SasuSaku doujinshi. (Try guessing when this happened! ^_^)

Okay. It looks kinda small, but you can open it in a new window and zoom in. Anyway, what really sucks when you color these things in Photoshop are the numerous white areas. Back in the old days, I would use "magic wand" to select, layer and color areas. It was a pain in the ass, in short. The nifty trick I learned from the tutorial is the use of Viewing selections as Channels. That was a lifesaver! It was like, "POOF!" and all the white areas are gone!

Here's the finished work.

Anyway, now I can color my own scans when I get the time. By the way, I found the websites via search engines, so since I'm to lazy to give the links, just type them in. ^_^
